Mrs. Alicia C. Ramsey born Alicia Beidleman, is a native of Elyria, Ohio. She is the oldest sibling of four and the only daughter of Gary and Beverly Beidleman. She graduated from Elyria West High School. She then attended the University of Akron, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education in 1993. Mrs. Ramsey received her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Indiana University. After meeting her husband Pastor John Ramsey in 1995, she moved to Indianapolis where they married and she began an extensive career in public education.
Mrs. Ramsey spent 15 years working in Perry Township Schools. She was Principal of Clinton Young Elementary School and Perry Meridian 6th Grade Academy. Prior to this position, she was an Assistant Principal, Dean at Southport Middle School and a teacher at Perry Meridian Middle School. In 2002, Mrs. Ramsey was the first African-American female to be elected to the school board in Pike Township for a four-year term. In June of 2009 Mrs. Ramsey decided to make a life change for her family and she resigned from her position as Principal of Clinton Young Elementary School. This would allow her to expand her family and assist her husband in ministry full-time ministry.
First Lady Ramsey has now taken her professional experience and is using it with her spiritual calling. Mrs. Ramsey is using the 15 yrs. of experience in education at New Life Worship Center by consulting the Rhema Preschool/Daycare, leading the Women’s of Excellence Ministry, and planning ministry services and events.
In 2006 she birthed a women’s ministry entitled “New Life Women of Excellence”. This ministry was designed to empower women to cultivate positive relationships as they enrich their mind, body, and soul through the word of God. Their annual lock-in event in February which is planned by First Lady Ramsey had over 2,000 women in attendance in 2010.
First Lady Ramsey participates on educational panels, does motivational speaking, and is a strong advocate for families of special needs children. Their youngest son Jeremiah David was born in 2001 with Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum and is in the Autism Spectrum. Recently God placed on the heart of she and Pastor to create a ministry at New Life entitled “Guardian Angels” so that parents with special needs children can come and worship while their child receives quality care in the Childrens’ Church area. She and her husband have a passion to advocate for special needs families and often speak for organizations that support this common cause. In her free time she enjoys traveling, reading and spending quality time with her husband, and their two sons, John, Jr. and Jeremiah David and their daughter Judah Maree.
