Pastor John F. Ramsey Sr. is the gifted and anointed Senior Pastor of New Life Worship Center, an exciting and rapidly growing church located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Pastor Ramsey attended Fort Wayne public schools and graduated from Snider High School. Following graduation, inspired by his love of athletics, he accepted a football scholarship at Miami University of Ohio and began pursuing a major in Education. Fully expecting to become a school teacher, he began ferociously studying to become an extraordinary educator. During his junior year at the age of 21, while experiencing the overwhelming power and love of God, he accepted God’s Call to the Ministry. It was during these college years that he began readying himself to do the Will of God on a full-time basis.
A dynamic preacher, prolific bible scholar and teacher, and a visionary leader, Pastor Ramsey boldly and unashamedly proclaims Gospel messages to encourage and empower God’s people. He ministers with power and prophetic anointing while using humor to make often complex biblical concepts enjoyable, simple, relevant, “down-to-earth,” and practical. With an uncompromising and clear mandate from God found in Matthew 28:18-20, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age,” Pastor Ramsey developed a central theme for New Life Worship Center: A Local Church with a Global Vision. Pastor Ramsey and the New Life Worship Center family are fully positioned to reach God’s people on a local, regional, national, and international basis.
Prior to serving as Pastor of New Life Worship Center, Pastor Ramsey founded and began pastoring the Victory Christian Center, a small storefront church located in the inner-city of Indianapolis. Starting with just one member, Victory Christian Center grew into a strong congregation within seven years. Under Pastor Ramsey’s leadership, the congregation purchased a church site and paid off the mortgage within a three-month period. Pastor Ramsey’s dedication, commitment, and love of Victory Christian Center moved God’s Heart to provide for Pastor Ramsey to open the doors of New Life Worship Center on August 5, 2001. Under his dynamic and visionary leadership and to accommodate its magnificent growth, New Life Worship Center moved from its initial 350 seat sanctuary (Kessler location) and ultimately into a new main location, a 13-acre 80,000 square feet 1,400 seat facility, in the city’s historic Traders Point neighborhood in July 2005. Since inception, the church has grown to over 5,000 members with 30 active ministries. To more effectively serve the Indianapolis community, in 2007 New Life Worship Center also completed the CASH purchase of a central campus location in Center Township located at 3425 Boulevard Place.
Pastor Ramsey serves as mentor and spiritual father to a number of local pastors. He is blessed to serve under Bishop I.V. Hilliard of New Light Christian Center, Houston, Texas as his spiritual father. He also is a member of the Association of Independent Ministries. Pastor Ramsey is a much sought after preacher and a featured national keynote speaker for various leadership and development programs. God’s anointing has enabled Pastor Ramsey to bring some of the nation’s leading pastors, teachers, and recording artists to New Life Worship Center to bless the congregation and the Indianapolis community each year.
Pastor Ramsey is most passionate about helping families to become stronger. He is known for his anointing in the areas of faith, relationships and financial stewardship. He is currently working on his first book about relationships entitled, “A Marriage Made in Heaven, But Going Through Hell.” His previously published books include “Smart Money Management: A Biblical Approach to Financial Stability and “Armed and Dangerous: Equipping Leaders for Effective Ministry.” He is co-author of a highly regarded book entitled, “About My Father’s Business: Merging Industry & Ministry.
Pastor Ramsey is married to his lovely wife, Alicia and they are the proud parents of three wonderful children-a daughter, Judah Maree, and sons Jeremiah David and John Jr.
